Frequently Asked Questions
What jobs is it best for?
Cutting flooring around door frames and pipes, fitting tile against moulding, and scribing worktops to an uneven wall. Anywhere a straight cut will not sit flush.
Does the shape hold while I trace?
The lock clamps the pins in place so the profile stays put while you carry it across and draw around it. Release it when you are ready for the next shape.
How deep a profile can it capture?
The pins travel far enough for typical skirting, pipework and moulding. For a wider profile, take it in two overlapping presses and join the lines.
Is it accurate enough for finish work?
The pins sit tightly together, so the traced line follows the real profile closely. Press it fully square to the shape and the result is ready to cut to.
How do I look after it?
Brush the dust out of the pins after a job and keep it dry. Left clean, the pins keep sliding smoothly for years.
