Frequently Asked Questions
How do the thickness rings work?
Each pair of rings holds the barrel a fixed distance off the counter. Once the rings touch down, the dough underneath is exactly that thickness, with no guessing.
Does dough stick to it?
Far less than wood, because steel stays cool and does not absorb fat from the dough. A light dusting of flour handles the rest.
What can I use it for?
Pastry, biscuits, pizza bases, pasta sheets and fondant. Anything where an even thickness changes how it bakes or looks.
Is it heavy to use?
It has enough weight to do some of the work for you, and the T shaped handles mean you push from the ends rather than pressing down through your wrists.
How do I clean it?
Take the rings off, wash both in warm soapy water, and dry the barrel straight away. The rust resistant surface keeps its finish with that simple routine.
